Old Boys' Founders' Day Bury Dinner

The evening will begin from 6.30pm in the Old Boys’ Club Room, overlooking the cricket field, followed by dinner at 7.45pm in the Main Hall, Senior Boys' Campus.
Our guest speaker is The Rt Hon Alistair Burt (Class of 1973). After leaving BGS, Alistair studied at St John's College Oxford, where he was president of the law society before becoming a solicitor in 1980. He served on Haringey Council in London from 1982 to 1984 before moving into politics, holding a number of esteemed positions, among them as MP for Bury North and as a Government Minister. Having retired from Parliament in 2019, Alistair is currently Pro Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University and President of the BGS Alumni Association.
The Toast to the School will be proposed by Tony Smith (Class of 1975), and Rob Lees, Senior Deputy Head Enrichment and Partnerships will respond.
The cost of the Dinner is £45.00, and for those in full time education a discounted price of £36.00 is available.

* Please order wine, which will be cash only, as soon as you arrive in the Club Room to avoid delays when dinner is announced, and with limited card machines, cash is preferred at the bar. The dress code for the evening is lounge suits.*
