The evening will be held in the Clive Room with a drinks reception at 7.00pm followed by dinner at 7.45pm. Seating is limited to 40 guests, so please book your place by 17th April 2026.
Guest speaker for the evening is Philip Collins, Editor of Prospect magazine and the founder and Writer-in-Chief of The Draft, a writing agency. Between 2003 and 2007 he was the Chief Speech Writer for the Prime Minister, Tony Blair, in 10 Downing Street. He has also worked as the Chief Leader for The Times, where he was a political columnist for 10 years. He has also been a columnist at The New Statesman and the Evening Standard. Before politics and journalism, Mr Collins had six years in banking, mostly as an Equity Strategist at HSBC James Capel, ran a think tank called the Social Market Foundation and taught political theory at St John's College, Cambridge. He has three blues for football from Cambridge. But, most important of all, he was at Bury Grammar School between 1978 and 1985.
The cost of the dinner is £80, and for those in full time education a discounted price of £55 is available. Please note that these prices do not include wine, guests are asked to purchase their own drinks on the night.
