Congratulations to Old Girl, Dr Collette Pakuza for achieving a PhD in Particle Accelerator Physics! Collette is an applied physicist and Senior Fellow at CERN, where she coordinates beam instrumentation efforts for the AWAKE experiment - an advanced project exploring plasma-based particle acceleration. After earning a First-Class MPhys from the University of Manchester, she completed her PhD in Particle Accelerator Physics jointly at the University of Oxford and CERN. Her career has focused on developing advanced diagnostic systems for particle beams, working closely with international partners to explore novel technologies. A dedicated mentor and communicator, she is also passionate about inspiring the next generation through scientific outreach.
