We were delighted to welcome back Jack Whittle (Class of 2012) to talk about his career in theatre.
The Roger Kay Hall was filled with GCSE and A Level aspiring actors, all with questions to ask. Jack spoke about his career journey after graduating with First Class Honours from The Guildford School of Acting in 2017. He reminisced about how he was first introduced to acting whilst in the Sixth Form, by Mrs Simmons. Those who have been part of our community for some time will recall his performance in in Guys and Dolls in 2011.
Jack talked briefly about the productions he has been involved in which include Mischief Theatre’s The Comedy About A Bank Robbery and The Play That Goes Wrong and the first UK Tour of Laura Wade's Posh.
Jack explained the whole audition process and spoke passionately about the importance of perseverance in a challenging industry. He stressed that rejection is part of the journey. He fielded a number of questions on his current project to write a film and offered technical acting advice and an overview of life at drama school.
We are extremely grateful to Jack for giving up his time to inspire a future generation of thespians.
