We were delighted to welcome Alison Quinn back to school to talk about her illustrious career in engineering. 

Alison left BGS in 1990 to study for a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath. She has worked in engineering companies including British Aerospace and GKN in various departments as she developed her engineering skills.

Alison moved into lighting as part of the construction industry and has been there ever since, gradually moving up the career ladder. 

She is currently UK sales director for Glamox UK, a Norwegian lighting company. Her role includes managing a large team to secure orders in a complex industry, providing solutions for major commercial construction projects and being an expert in lighting and it's processes.  

Alison spoke to the students about the importance of communication and motivating the team that you manage and discussed the skills that are needed in the engineering sector.
