We recently heard from Old Girl, Abby Walsh to learn more about her career since leaving BGS in 2018. 

Abby attended BGS from 2003 until 2018 where she studied Business, IT and Psychology at A level. She went on to study for a BA in Equine Business Management at Hartpury University, graduating with a 2.1. 

In 2022 she started Abby’s Animal Services with the intention of running a mobile livery service with dog walking as a smaller service, however, the dog walking quickly took over as a larger part of the business. Alongside her work, Abby started studying Dog Training & Behaviour to help her border collie with reactivity and to be mentally enriched. She qualified as a Dog Trainer with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers in 2023 and since then has continued with CPD and growing the training side of the business.

Abby has a number of qualifications including reactivity training and with her ethics being a large part of her goal to ensure she keeps aligned with force free, positive reinforcement training and dog walking, in 2025 she was awarded Highly Commended Dog Trainer/Behaviourist at the Animal Star Awards and made it to the finals of the Women in Business Awards in the Pet Care Services category with the awards evening being held in late March.
