Diana Robinson, alumni, (class of 1968) and a member of staff from 1974 - 2009 has recently travelled to Uganda as part of the charity Drumbeat UK.
The charity is based in and around Rochdale and supports 114 underprivilaged children and helps them to receive an education. Many of the children are supported by sponsors from the UK.
This summer Diana travelled to Masaka to take part in the summer camp. The camp lasts for 7 days and offers opportunities for pupils to take part in Art, Music, Drama, Dance, Sport and First Aid activities. Diana took out 20 BGS frisbees to entertain the pupils.
The theme of this years' camp was 'I can make a difference!' and Diana reports that the whole experience was life changing, not only for the pupils, but for her!
