BGS Bursary 24 |
We are delighted to announce that Bury Grammar School (BGS) is now an accredited school by the Royal National Children’s Springboard Foundation.
Royal National Children's SpringBoard Foundation is the UK’s largest bursary charity, helping disadvantaged and vulnerable children from across the UK to access fully funded bursaries at leading schools. They focus social mobility by harnessing the power of educational opportunities at some of the UK’s leading schools to benefit young people who need them the most.
For four and a half centuries, Bury Grammar School has been at the heart of the Bury community and we are proud of our school’s rich history and long-standing tradition of being an open and inclusive school, which welcomes bright children regardless of means. Our blend of pupils from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds is what makes our school so special, it is the people of Bury Grammar School who make BGS the outstanding place it is.
The aim of our bursary scheme is to provide fee assistance, as far as is possible, so that academically gifted pupils are able to attend Bury Grammar School regardless of their financial circumstances.
· Bursary placements can propel young people from challenging backgrounds into careers and roles where they can advocate and influence further advances in social mobility.
· SpringBoarders challenge stereotypes and inspire others through the positive contributions they make in their school communities.
· SpringBoarders go on to become role models as trustees and mentors, influencing those around them to raise their aspirations and see new possibilities, and impacting the communities and families in which they started.
Bury Grammar School looks forward to continuing to adhere to our founding principles of educating bright, young people of Bury regardless of their personal circumstances.
