We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Bury Grammar School has been selected to perform at the prestigious National School Theatre Awards ceremony in London’s West End this June! Out of more than 300 schools nationwide, only 15 have been chosen for this incredible opportunity and we are proud to be one of them.

The Ministry of School Arts presents the National School Theatre Awards® each year, a prestigious event that shines a spotlight on outstanding school productions. Often described as ‘the Oscars for schools,’ these awards celebrate the dedication, creativity, and talent behind school productions.

We cannot wait for our phenomenal cast of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to take to the stage once again later this year. This remarkable opportunity is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of our talented pupils, as well as the unwavering support from our outstanding Drama and Music departments, staff volunteers and production team.

Our Head of Drama, Mrs Charlesworth told us,

“I am so excited for the pupils to be selected to perform at the National Theatre Awards. This recognition really does mean a lot, after all the hard work, dedication and creativity the pupils poured into this production. The chance to showcase our adaptation of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' on such a distinguished stage is truly a dream come true for all of us in the Drama department!”

Mrs Anderson, Principal said,

“We are immensely proud of our Drama pupils, students, and staff for earning the prestigious opportunity to perform at the National School Theatre Awards in London's West End. This achievement highlights not only the exceptional talent and hard work of our pupils but also the strong support and guidance provided by our Drama department. It is an honour to represent our school on such a significant platform, and we look forward to cheering them on as they take to the stage this June.”

Congratulations to our phenomenal cast, crew, Music and Drama departments and whole school for supporting us in this outstanding achievement.
