Emma Kirby (Class of 2021)

School News

We were delighted to welcome back former Psychology Bury Grammar student Emma Kirby (Class of 2021), who delivered an engaging and insightful talk to our current Year 12 students. Emma spoke to pupils about her academic and professional career path so far, giving insights into her undergraduate and postgraduate Psychology degrees. We are grateful for her time and openness in sharing her career journey, with a particular focus on Forensic Psychology and her work in mental health crisis support.

Emma brought psychology to life by outlining the real challenges of working with complex mental health needs and illustrating her experiences through powerful case studies. Her talk gave students a valuable opportunity to see psychology in action and offered clear insight into how theory is applied in real-world settings. It was lovely to hear Emma discuss how her time studying Psychology in Sixth Form provided her with a strong foundation upon which she has continued to build.
