At Bury Grammar School, we feel passionately that education is the key to unlocking opportunity, and we strive to make a BGS education accessible for as many bright, local children who would benefit as possible, regardless of means, through our Bursary Fund. The BGS Bursary Fund currently provides 1 in 8 pupils in our senior schools with means-tested bursary support, with the average fee support being a transformational 81%, and 46% of bursary recipients receiving 100% fee support.

We are delighted to launch our new report into the transformative impact a BGS bursary can have, not only on the individual to whom it is awarded, but also on their family, the School and wider society. Combining personal stories from bursary recipients and their families with data about how we support bursary pupils and what they go on to achieve post-BGS, The Ripple Effect is a celebration of social mobility, and aims to demonstrate how truly life-changing a BGS Bursary can be.
